WFTO Wednesday #35: The Arcanist

Hey folks,

The Arcanists of the Empire travel to the barren wastes to tap into the potent arcane energies that emanate from the inhospitable desert to further their knowledge of the Arcana. Once they master their ability to siphon the arcane they return to the Archives of the Empire to study the spells penned by previous Arcanists.

 

Unit Spotlight: The Arcanist

The Arcanist is the most advanced spellcaster of the Empire, she has the power to tap into the arcane energy of the realm and weave it into potent spells. In battle they will unleash their control of the Arcane to vanquish any who threaten their research.

Abilities:

  • Unbound Power (Passive): Every spell the Arcanist casts gives her a stacking buff that increases magical damage done and physical damage taken by 10%. Stacks 10 times, lasts 10 seconds.
  • Arcane Bolt (Active): The Arcanist launches an Arcane Bolt at a target, dealing damage.
  • Arcane Charge (Active): The Arcanist launches an explosive projectile at an enemy unit, dealing AoE damage upon impact.
  • Arcane Barrage (Active): After a brief delay, the Arcanist fires an Arcane Barrage at an enemy unit, dealing heavy damage and reducing their resistance to magic damage for a short period.
  • Nova (Active): The Arcanist lets out a powerful shockwave that knocks away nearby enemy units.
  • Arcane Storm (Special): The Arcanist lets out a devastating storm on top of an enemy unit, dealing heavy damage and stunning any nearby enemy units.

    I can’t wait for this to have some more features! I loved the old DK and DK2. I have bought this from you guys off steam and really liked the progress so far.
    It does look very similar to the old ones, what specific features are you including that differ from the old one?

      First of all, great first name ;)

      Secondly: while I can’t give a comprehensive list of all the features of WFTO I *can* give you a brief overview of basic mechanics in the game:

      Rooms
      Spells
      Rituals (spells that have map-wide effects)
      Shrines (controlling these gives you various benefits / debuffs to your enemies)
      Veins of Evil (unlock what spells/rooms/rituals/potions/defenses that *you* want to play with / utilize).
      Powerful GUI tools that allow you to manage your army better
      Interesting and unique minions that offer unique advantages to your army & your dungeon.
      Various upgrades to rooms within your dungeon that will enhance your army and power(s).

      The above isn’t a full list, but hopefully it’s enough to keep you interested.
