WFTO Wednesday #1

WFTOWednesday

Hey folks,

The dust has finally settled after our thrilling Kickstarter campaign and we’re hard at work. Today is the first of our weekly updates where we will detail progress on the game, contests, polls, livestream events, Q&A sessions, and other equally awesome (and somewhat secret) topics that we’re sure you’ll love when they happen.

This will be one of our longer posts that is mainly focused on our post-Kickstarter campaign. WFTO Wednesday will primarily be focused upon the game after this week so put a reminder in your phones!

You Can Still Back War for the Overworld

We’re going to continue to allow new backers to join the project with all of the original Kickstarter tiers until the end of January. Next month (February) new backers will have access to most of the original tier-rewards, however a few will be phased out permanently. After February we will transitioning to a traditional store format, all Kickstarter tiers will removed and new backers will have the option to pre-order various digital forms of the game, digital add-ons, and physical goodies.

We’ve added all the original Kickstarter tiers to our own website in addition to a new tier that allows you to build & choose your own rewards. Check out the store and find the right tier to suit you. In the near future we’ll have a way for you to get additional add-ons — stay tuned.

Want to upgrade your pledge?

Because we have received a lot of requests from backers hoping to upgrade their pledges we’ve introduced a new system to upgrade your chosen tier. Simply fill in this form to select your rewards and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

These reward tiers won’t last forever, in fact, they’ll be gone in a few short months. Grab your tier upgrade at its original (discounted) Kickstarter price for some great rewards and the added bonus of helping us reach our next Stretch Goal.

Backer-Exclusive Forums & Titles

Our backer-exclusive forums will be fully available by March — however we anticipate that they will be up considerably sooner than then. Until you can hide your thoughts from the prying eyes of the public feel free to jump into our public forums. We do our best to catch everything said and will do our best to respond as much as possible (we think you’ll agree that our time is better spent building the Bedrock Beta).

If you are a member of the Founders Club (£115+) you can get early access to your exclusive forum! Simply create an account on our forums and then message us on Kickstarter with your username by clicking here. This option is ONLY available to those who receive access to the Founders Club in their reward tier.

Additionally, If you have performed a password reset on your forum account since Monday evening (UTC) you will need to reset your password again if you didn’t receive an email with a reset link. Sorry about that — Gnarlings love to chew through wires…

Ways to Help

Currently the best way to help us is to vote for us on GOG & Steam Greenlight and, as always, you should tell your friends about us!

In addition to the above, we will open up additional ways to support War for the Overworld in the future — including community-based localization efforts for certain languages.

Once our backer-exclusive forums are live there will be a plethora of opportunities for you to give us feedback and suggestions.

Until next time Underlord,

-WFTO Team

  3. Great.

  4. so nice 😉

  5. I’ve been with you guys from the start. given ideas for creatures and offered help when it was needed but from what I’ve seen so far from you. There was really no need for any of it. You guys have made what looks like an awesome game and a true tribute to the dk series. All the best and all the luck I can offer that everything goes well. I’m looking forward to this game greater than any other due in this year. including generals 2…… Well done guys keep up the hard work 🙂

  6. I remember years ago where ALL of this was just an idea on a fourm and a few people messing around with concept art, I didn’t think it would get anywhere but i’m so glad it did. The work you guys have put in and your commitment to DK is amazing. Keep up the great work, wishing your team all the success in the future.
