The Meaning of Death
We’re right on track for our spooky surprise at the end of the month, but that doesn’t mean the fear has to wait. Today we’ll discuss an extended deadline (we take them occasionally, so we’re giving you one), Linux support (we’re pretty sure this is scary too, somehow), and the eerie sounds from some of our most frightening units and rooms.
Extended Deadline for Stumpy’s Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza!
It has come to our attention that some of you are not skilled Necromancers and are unable to keep your pumpkins alive for more than a few days once they have been carved. Due to this we are extending Stumpy’s Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza! The deadline for entry is now November 3rd. Finalists will be announced on November 6th, voting will close on November 12th and winners being announced the following day.
Bedrock Beta 0.2.2 “Tux” (Linux Support!)
WFTO now supports Linux! Bedrock Beta 0.2.2 “Tux” has just been pushed to Steam, adding support for x64 Linux systems. Please check out this thread for more info or to report any problems you encounter.
We’d like to give a big shout out to Erich Hoover for his help with this!
Spooky Audio Showcase
To help inspire your pathetic attempts (see: lack thereof) at entering Stumpy’s latest contest we asked our sound wizards to put together a few reels of our spookiest units. Consider the Witch Doctor as you plunge your dull blade into the skin of your pumpkin. Pretend to sacrifice its innards as the chilling sounds of the Spirit Chamber echo within your skull. Carve the flesh from its face as you become one with the Necromancer… and then raise it as your very own Ghoul as you cast “light candle” inside of your newest undead ally.
